Beyond the Physical childcare provision achieves Strong Standard across the board in Ofsted inspection
We’re incredibly proud to share the results of our recent Ofsted inspection at Beyond the Physical Active Camp, based at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School in Leeds — with our childcare provision meeting the Strong Standard across all areas of the inspection.
For our team, this is a fantastic achievement and an important recognition of the quality, care and experiences we strive to provide for every child who attends our provision.
Creating childcare where children can flourish
At Beyond the Physical, we believe that high-quality childcare should be about more than simply providing a safe place for children to spend their time.
It should be a place where children feel safe, supported, included and engaged, while having opportunities to try new things, build friendships, develop confidence and, most importantly, enjoy themselves.
Our Active Camps are designed around this approach, combining childcare with a wide variety of physical, creative and social experiences. Children have opportunities to move, solve and connect through activities that encourage them to be active, curious and involved.
The Strong Standard outcome across the inspection is a reflection of the consistent approach taken by our team and the positive environment we work hard to create.

A partnership that works
Our provision at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School demonstrates what can be achieved when a school and childcare provider work together to create high-quality opportunities for children and families.
The success of the provision has also been recognised by the Yorkshire Evening Post, which highlighted the positive experiences children are having at the Leeds holiday club.

For us, the coverage is another great opportunity to showcase the standard of childcare that can be delivered through the right school and provider partnership.
Could we bring the same quality of childcare to your school?
Following the continued development of our childcare provision, we’re now looking to work with more schools across Yorkshire through our Holiday Camps and Wraparound Care.
For schools, partnering with Beyond the Physical can provide a way to offer families high-quality childcare while also making greater use of existing school facilities and creating an additional income stream for the school.
We can use your school as a base for childcare provision, with our experienced team taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation and delivery.
This means schools can benefit from an established childcare service without having to take on the operational responsibility of running the provision themselves.
What can a Beyond the Physical partnership offer?
Every school community is different, so we work with schools to develop a provision that fits their facilities, families and priorities.
A partnership can provide:
- Additional income for your school.
- Ofsted-inspected childcare, delivered to the standards demonstrated through our recent inspection.
- High-quality provision for families, supporting parents and carers before and after school and/or during school holidays.
- Experienced childcare and activity staff responsible for the day-to-day delivery.
- Engaging and varied experiences giving children opportunities to move, solve and connect.
- A partnership tailored to your school, its facilities and the needs of your families.
Schools can explore Holiday Camp provision, Wraparound Care, or a combination of both, depending on what would deliver the greatest benefit for their school community.
Supporting schools, families and children
We know that schools are under increasing pressure to provide services that meet the needs of their communities, while also making the best possible use of their facilities and resources.
That’s why we see childcare partnerships as more than simply an additional service.
The right provision can help schools support working parents and carers, provide children with enriching experiences outside the classroom and generate additional income — all while making productive use of the school's existing facilities.
Our recent Ofsted outcome gives us even greater confidence in taking this approach to more schools across Yorkshire.
Could your school be next?
If you’re a school leader, trust representative or decision-maker exploring options for Holiday Camps or Wraparound Care, we’d love to start a conversation.
We understand that every school is different. There’s no obligation and no expectation to have everything figured out before getting in touch.
We’d simply like to understand your current provision, the needs of your families and what a partnership with Beyond the Physical could look like for your school.
